Fans of 'The Gaslight Anthem', 'Dropkick Murphys', 'Mumford & Sons' or 'Chuck Ragan' should definitely check out the Portuguese SAM ALONE & THE GRAVE DIGGERS, who are tattooed from head to toe, have their roots in the hardcore scene (with Devil In Me members) and do a similar thing as mentioned bands with their Springsteen-like singer Poli Correia aka Sam Alone. Armed with the rifle of the working class - an old, battered guitar, the sextet tells stories of everyday heroes, the ups & downs of life, and unites just incredibly rousing, handmade music and serious lyrics. Inspired by folk, punk, hardcore and classic protest songs, the band stands for a positive attitude, but also expresses its frustration with the countless injustices and grievances today. The result are some haunting tracks, in which you'll find yourself and immediately want to sing along.
