Grammy award winner and rock'n'roll hall of fame recruit 'Metallica' are the official patrons of the Record Store Days on April 16, 2016.
"The Independent Record Stores are part of Metallica's DNA (…) We couldn't be more proud to be the patrons for the Record Store Day…“, said drummer Lars Ulrich. Within the scope of this year's Record Store Days the band will release two exclusive deluxe box sets of their albums "Kill ‘Em All" and "Ride The Lightning" by April 16. Each deluxe box set contains selected original material from the collection of the band. Among other things there will be many unknown and never published records and books with rare photographs and notes of the band.
The numbered deluxe box sets contain: live shows, interviews, outtakes and mostly unheard and never before seen publications.
The deluxe set of the album “Kill ´Em All” contains 4 vinyl (remastered album, double LP live show „Live At Espace Balard”, „Jump In The Fire“-picture disc with 3 songs), 5 CDs (interviews/radio ID's, remixes/bootleg tracks/whip flash remix EP, live show „Live At JBees Rock III”, live show „Live At The Keystone”) , 1 DVD (live show „Live At The Metro In Chicago”) and 1 book (72 page with never seen photographs and notes). Furthermore the deluxe box set contains a patch.
