2014. 'Apron' is back - LET THE CURTIAN RISE! Apron has managed to produce a small scene hit with the disco metal single "IDGAFUCK" in 2011, the musicians withdrew for the biggest project so far. The quartet started to write a concept album, which is based on the song "MR PUNCH": a story about Kleinmann, a square who finds the wonderful mean puppet 'Mr. Punch' by chance (?). Mr. Punch takes possession of the puppeteer and this is how both of them start a spectacular tour. The sound of the disc is throughout playful DIABOLIC CIRCUS MUSIC! The title of the new album is "DER PUNCH". The album was pre-financed by crowd funding in just 10 days by numerous Apron fans. DER PUNCH will be the first "audio comic” of the planet! Parallel to the music recordings an approx. 120-sided „graphic novel" with drawings by artist Andi Papelitzky, cover artwork by the famous Munich street artists Michael „Fester" Heinz-Fischer and texts by Apron drummer Medusa has been crated. The next chapter of the comics will be musically created by Apron on their next album. The one and only THOMAS LINDNER, singer from the band SCHANDMAUL will be the narrator of the story over the 11 songs. With DER PUNCH Apron has taken a huge step out of adolescence into adulthood, without losing the desire for brute force, unexpected sound and energetic live shows. Apron is one of the only few German bands, that cannot be pigeon-holed and that creates a distinctive and individual sound, that can be classified somewhere between System of a Down and EAV.
